It was Saturday…Holiday.. Here in CEERI we have official holidays on weekends, not to mention the unofficial holidays we take
There was literally nothing to do. All of a sudden one of my hostel mates jumps up with the idea of going to Pahadi Mandir, a local temple in the outskirts of Pilani situated on a hill top. We all get on our heels and get ready to get going. With our bumps on our bicycles and water bottles on our carriers, we start off. We didn’t exactly know the road to the temple. So we went asking people on our way. And finally we got a glimpse of the Pahadi Mandir after cycling for 4 km.
It was all sandy around the hill. So we had to get down our cycles and start walking to the foot of the hill. It was a tedious climb up the stairs as they were very small and awkward. But what a bliss it was when we finally reached the hill top. OMG!! You could actually see the whole of BITS Pilani and CEERI and the village of Pilani and the nearby villages. Here the vegetation is so scattered that you can actually count the number of babool trees in the vicinity. It was actual fun. We then had the darshan of Hanumanji, the deity of this temple.
We all had a lot of fun that day. Two guys from our group we found out had fear of heights. These guys didn’t actually dare to stand up on the temple premises. They had their buttocks glued to the ground until we all started to leave. We had a lot of photographs taken. It really was a memorable experience………………
